The Citizen’s Cry

Blinded by their own folly
They were forced to toil the ground
With pattern of strokes on their backs

The choice of committing to this villain
They gave room for sentiment to path the way
Now the fiercest blade kissing their throats

The path they’ve chosen to thread
The dismissal of loved ones
With unborn children tasting this vinegar

Trapped in a dark black heart
Of men who’ve path ways with conscience
Ruled by that ancient serpent

Tears rained through their cheek
Misery the air they breath
Again, back to their senses

They lament through day and night
Waiting for the answer right in their arms
There goes the song of silence

Who will hear their cry?
To whom will they run to
When their hearts are perverted
